Strange thing is, the country has been aware that the weather was going to be bad but the environment agency has not taken the action a few days earlier to prevent this from happening.
All lines are affected between Worcester Foregate Street and Stratford-upon-Avon, between Birmingham New Street and Cheltenham Spa, and between Longbridge and Bromsgrove. Storm Babet has brought heavy rain overnight, with a Met Office warning in place across the Midlands.National Highways is advising drivers to plan ahead for their journeys, with warnings of difficultRail operators are warning of disruption to travel in Birmingham and Derby.
West Midlands Railway is also reporting a blocked line due to flooding on services between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton. Services are subject to cancellation.A tree is blocking the railway line between Sheffield and Derby, with CrossCountry Trains reporting all lines are blocked. Disruption is expected until 10am.Bus companies are advising commuters to allow extra time to travel.
