Council staff are seeing growing numbers of homes returned in the worst condition
Council homes trashed and abandoned by selfish tenants in West Lothian are adding to under-pressure housing lists and the length of time homes are lying empty.
There have been issues in the recent past with trade shortages and the supply of materials. There are also issues with contractors Across the council this month there are two category homes A for let, 86 category B, requiring some refurbishment and 158 category C, requiring major works. Housing Manager Lorraine Donnelly said that many tenants do not respond to contact from the housing department and, in the worst cases, homes are simply abandoned with furniture intact.
