Paris Green, serving life for the murder of Robert Shankland, had cannabis seized from her cell in a women’s wing of Edinburgh Prison and was accused by staff of “chucking a tantrum”.
Scotland's longest-serving trans prisoner fears being moved to a male jail after being accused of assaulting a female prison officer.A friend of Green said the incident was exaggerated, and sources said a cell door had “jammed rather than been slammed”. Green, who hopes to have sex-change surgery, was reported internally and will now be subject to a fresh risk assessment by Scottish Prison Service management.
“She is absolutely terrified, especially knowing that Sophie Eastwood has recently been moved to a male prison.” Green’s friend said: “I spent time in jail alongside Paris and she is a really calm presence. She fits in well with the other women, doesn’t ask for or expect to be treated any differently and I’ve never seen her angry.
