Tragedy and legacy of selfless woman, 27, who died just weeks after diagnosis on wedding holiday
The partner of a 'caring, passionate and selfless' 27-year-old woman who diedjust two months after being diagnosed with cervical cancer is raising money to make her long-held dream a reality. Aidan Solan, 29, described his late girlfriend, Alexandra Halley, as a 'caricature of a good person' and simply 'incredible'.

I couldn't stop. [It was] just the realisation of what was happening [and it] setting in."
That same day, Aidan and Alexandra spoke of the project that had long been her dream - now a fundraiser available here has topped £20,000. The following Saturday morning, Aidan tested positive for coronavirus meaning he couldn't return to the hospital to see Alexandra, only able to contact each other by phone.
A couple of days after the unexpected phone call Alexandra, who worked at the Richard Cloudesley School in Islington, passed away. Looking back at the time, Aidan said he finds it unbelievable that just two months before, they'd been in Italy on holiday, where she'd been 'the life and soul of the party'.
