Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff has accused Max Verstappen of an ‘act of revenge’ against his driver Lewis Hamilton., lining up 18th on the grid after an incident with former title rival Verstappen.Verstappen was forced to go off-line to pass him on the straightand turn 10, and the Dutchman then returned the favour straight after at turn 1.
Explaining the tangle post-session, after taking pole position, Verstappen said: “He blocked me into the last corner, so I had to brake more and then I lost like three tenths, so that wasn’t ideal. I think not correct. Wolff has since commented on the incident from Mercedes side, taking responsibility for impacting Verstappen’s lap, but accusing the Red Bull driver of taking things into his own hands.
