Applause rang out as the nation's leaders took to the stage in Manchester for this year's Conservative Party conference. But chants on the streets outside were in stark contrast.
But HS2 is far from the government's only source of turmoil as it seizes the microphone in Manchester. Signs reading 'pay the doctors more please', 'trans rights now, fight for liberation', 'refugees welcome' - the list of battles was almost endless. "We stand in solidarity with all workers engaged in industrial action," continued Emma Clifford and Martha Fold from Disabled People Against the Cut.
His comments follow his recent decision to water down net zero commitments and an announcement that he was “slamming the brakes on the war on motorists” by producing a slew of pro-driving policies.
