Councillor Leyland emphasised the importance of local views, stating:"Indecision and uncertainty about the future use of the site that goes on for too long, will not benefit residents and they deserve to know when they will get to make a final decision." However, Guardians Of The East Coast campaigners deem a four-year wait excessive. They lauded the leaders for acknowledging the"impact of uncertainty on residents," yet lambasted the extended timeline and perceived misuse of public funds.
