Tiger Woods said LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman “has got to leave' for LIV Golf and the PGA Tour to have an amicable relationship. The PGA Tour and LIV Golf are entangled in an antitrust lawsuit.
Woods was asked whether he thinks the organizations can coexist. He responded: “Not right now. Not with their leadership. Not with Greg there, and his animosity towards the tour itself. I don’t see that happening.”
Woods, who turns 47 on Dec. 30, continues to ramp up his golf activities after sustaining significant leg injuries in a single-car crash in February 2021. He had open fractures in the upper and lower portions of his right leg, and additional injuries to his foot and ankle which required the insertion of screws and pins to stabilize the area.
The PGA Tour’s legal strategy versus LIV was first seen in an Aug. 8 response to the restraining order. The tour’s counter stated that suspended tour members who defected to LIV but still sought to compete in the FedEx Cup Playoffs had “willfully breached their contracts with the tour” and were “fabricating an emergency” in an attempt to play.
