Mill Farm in Lincolnshire offers a thrilling Halloween maze experience with high walls, challenging routes, and a spooky atmosphere. The maze is not overly commercialized, making it even more exciting for kids. Families navigate through the maze using clues, a torch, and a downloadable map. The experience is disorienting but fun, with families often debating their path and potentially going in circles.
Halloween and haunted mazes seem to now be par for the course at this time of year and they’re everywhere. But what exactly are the essential criteria for a thrilling experience which brings out the inner Indiana Jones in you?
Armed with a clipboard to collect clues and the advice that we would “definitely” need a torch and the downloadable map, we set off into the darkness of the eight-foot high corn maze. Completely disorientated after just a few minutes, my partner decided now was the time to activate “Dad Mode - Orienteering” and took charge of the family, using the position of the moon and the sound of the generator at the hot dog stand in the car park to direct us around.
Meanwhile, my boys were loving life, running around and squealing that they’d found another clue in the treasure hunt. We were in the maze for 90 minutes and not once did anyone moan about how they were tired or had walked too far. The maze is impressively huge and has been grown into the shape of a man with pumpkins at his feet by Steve and his team. Fairy lights illuminate ghostly figurines and stuffed characters around the route.
