Three protesters have been charged with criminal damages offences following a climate protest during which activists threw tinned soup at Vincent Van Gogh’s famous 1888 work Sunflowers.
Anna Holland, 20, and Phoebe Plummer, 21, were charged with criminal damage to the frame of the iconic painting, which is on display at the National Gallery in London.
Meanwhile, Lora Johnson, 38, was charged with criminal damage to the iconic sign outside New Scotland Yard, which was spray-painted orange as part of the same wave of protest.The protest was connected with the group Just Stop Oil, which is demanding that the UK Government agrees to end all new oil and gas ventures.
