Families may be eligible to get help with essential living costs
Thousands of households in Leeds may be eligible to receive a one-off payment of up to £100 next month to help with rising living costs.
The DWP said: “In England a further £842 million is being provided to extend the Household Support Fund by a further 12 months from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. The additional funding will be used by local authorities to support vulnerable households.” Households with children and pensioner households will receive £100 and working age households without children will receive £75.
The council said it intends to issue payments to households by the end of November 2023, which will be made via a Post Office voucher.
