Thousands headed to the town centre to watch the festivities
Crowds enjoyed the festive fun in Burnley as thousands packed the town centre to watch the Christmas lights switch-on.
A number of popular characters walked through the crowd as a stage show was performed featuring the Ice King, Burnley Youth Theatre, Burnley Dance School and Louby Lou. Father Christmas met with youngsters with a snowman and his reindeer alongside him. Burnley BID Project Manager Andrew Dean was in the town centre on event day and he was thrilled to see so many smiling faces. "Alongside our partners we wanted to transform Burnley into a winter wonderland for the day and spread Christmas cheer to kickstart the festive season in style," he said.
