'The Scottish Government has never had so much money at its disposal, yet our communities continue to face brutal cuts' ✍ CllrTKerr

THIS week, Glaswegians have been digesting what the Glasgow SNP budget will mean for them, their families and our local communities. It left Councillors with around £60 million worth of cuts to make, plus an additional £40m ofand social care cuts. That’s the worst situation our city has ever faced since devolution and on top of half a billion pounds being slashed from our budget over the past decade.

tax. To me, that decision alone shows just how out of touch SNP Councillors are with the ordinary public. We all know that times are tough, and at a time when Glaswegians are choosing between heating and eating this SNP Council is raising bills. It’s completely backwards. Elderly residents, people with disabilities and those who struggle with arthritis use the suite to help ease pain, yet now if you stay in the city you’ll have to use a private gym to access these facilities.

Then you have the new garden waste charge, which may not seem a big issue for many people, but for elderly residents who have already lost the garden maintenance program, this is yet another charge for many who can’t afford it.It’s time for Glasgow to unite in one voice to say enough is enough. Our city can’t take any more savage SNP cuts.
