You'd think there'd be more Eurovision
Eurovision is massive and it's been going on ages. It is the longest-running annual international televised music competition.
In 1999, a girl group called Precious took to the stage in Jerusalem, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Katrina and the Waves, who had won just two years prior in 1997. The singer-turned-presenter hails from Penwortham, attending All Hallows Catholic High School and Runshaw College. Sophie and friend Jenny Frost founded Precious in 1998, and just a year later, they shot to fame after being voted in to that year's Eurovision contest, representing the UK.Their song Say It Again was released as a single on May 17. And the song was popular, and it saw the band signed by music lable EMI.
