A dollhouse by Marialaura Irvine showcases new paint colours by surface specialist Matteo Brioni
'Through their groundbreaking contributions, these women have played a crucial role in shaping the narrative of modern design and architecture, and their impact continues to inspire and shape contemporary practices,' says Irvine.
The collaboration, Paints According to Irvine, follows a previous project, Earth According to Matteo, for which Irvine undertook the art direction in 2018. While the previous project demonstrated the brand's natural clay finishes, this new endeavour looks at colour to define a space. The new project is inspired by Irvine's own experience playing with dollhouses growing up, and is influenced by her admiration of the masters of modern architecture, from Peter Behrens to Walter Gropius and. '[My reflections] took a turn when the question"And the women?" arose,' notes Irvine.
