While Evertonians have received multiple warnings about 777 Partners from followers of other clubs within their stable, their first foray into European football ownership at Genoa arguably remains their most-successful investment in terms of reaction from the stands.
“This season, Genoa has amassed 27,777 season ticket holders. After promotion back to Serie A last May, Genoa’s management had hoped to reach 25,000 season ticket holders. “Blessin initially remained at Genoa but in December 2022 he was sacked. That was the real turning point, with the choice of Alberto Gilardino, a former Italy striker, promoted to the first team, having coached the Primavera .
“He’s come to Genoa quite often and he’s spoken more than once to the fans before the start of the matches at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium – the last occasion was at the start of the season to thank the 27,777 season ticket holders for their trust.
