THE PLAYGROUND Theatre, in collaboration with local not-for-profit organisation iBlackbird, hosts a summer-long festival of events
The festival puts the community at its core, creating an inclusive and empowering space for everyone to participate.
Flower Veronica’s Daughter, chief organiser for the festival, told the Voice: “We are excited to announce that the renowned ‘Man with a Thousand Faces’ Charles Tomlin will star as ‘JD3.’ Directed by Makonnen and produced by iBlackbird founder Flower Veronica’s Daughter, with support from The Playground Theatre Team, the play boasts exceptional design by Georgia Wilmot, who has her roots in the Windrush migration.Flower Veronica’s Daughter enthused: “‘The Time Has Come’ promises an unforgettable cultural experience with free Jamaican food, music, drinks, surprise performances, and inter-generational storytelling before each show.
