Mercedes admits it got 'a proper kick in the teeth' mid-season after having thought it had solved its F1 car issues with its Spanish GP upgrade.

Speaking at Suzuka last weekend, Mercedes technical director Mike Elliott explained how the car's core problem only became clear when it persisted after the Barcelona upgrade that it initially thought would turn its season around."The bouncing was just dominating everything.
