Rivington is one of those places that just keeps on giving. Like a social media video you watch on repeat because there's so much going on, you spot something new each time.
Honestly, is like a patch of the Lake District has been cut out and placed perfectly in Lancashire. There's a chain of reservoirs which originally attracted hoards of tourists, with it bringing a boost to the economy and a rise in population. Lower and Lower Rivington are the leading characters, with smaller ones and other open water spaces taking up a supporting roles. Today, Rivington is like opening up a box filled with only your favourite flavours - not a Coconut Eclair in sight. Where the pin drops on the map is also Rivington's ace card.
If a place could be thoughtful, Rivington is just that, as there's a number of cafes and tearoom smartly placed close to most of the main walking and cycling trails and busiest visitors areas. If you're so endeared by Rivington, and you'd be hard pushed to not, you can even get married in one of several venues in the area.
