The G20 is set to focus on climate change and sustainable development, but the Russian invasion of Ukrainian is likely to be discussed

in India’s capital, Delhi this weekend.

Each year, a different G20 country assumes the presidency and sets the agenda for the summit. The G20 member states include the European Union, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the UK and the US.

This year, India has invited 11 other countries, including Nigeria, Oman and Rwanda to the summit. It has also requested the attendance of international bodies including the World Health Organisation and the International Monetary Fund.As this year’s presidential country at the summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to focus on climate sustainability in addition to promoting India as a major global power.
