Stylist Felicity Kay speaks to Vogue about her work with Paul Mescal, Ncuti Gatwa and Kit Connor.
star – who once called Kay a “fashion godmother” on Instagram – has since become “second nature”. “I know so instinctively what he’s going to be drawn to on a rail,” she explains, and reveals that Gatwa often sends voice notes outlining ideas and concepts. look was inspired by something he sent to Felicity when they were brainstorming. “I think it’s so important to give them a voice in the process,” she asserts.
“I want clients to have a sense of ownership.”Kay stresses the significance of the early conversations she has when onboarding new clients, especially the emerging talents who are at a breakthrough moment in their careers. She observes their aesthetic and tastes as well as getting a “sense of their personality and values”.
