The Chemical Brothers make a triumphant return to Leeds with a stunning visual show, captivating the crowd with their energetic performance and breathtaking footage. From irresistible baselines to soulful melodies, the duo delivers an unforgettable night of music.
A booming voice rings out across the First Direct Arena as a huge digitised face appears behind a ring of consoles, keyboards, mixers, laptops and drum machines. 'Behold... they're coming back...'
Fans of legendary duo Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands will know that the visual show that the Chems put on is a huge part of their act and the blistering start to the set which includes the likes of Do It Again, MAH and Hey Boy Hey Girl is backed up by stunning footage behind them, whether that is giant wire-framed dancers, devil-horned individuals or foreboding macabre-masked figures screaming lyrics back at them.
The tempo is soon cranked up again, with a number of fan-favourite cuts from the '90s soon following, including the title track from their classic Dig Your Own Hole album, Elektrobank and a brief airing of Noel Gallagher's Setting Sun vocals also thrown into the mix. As the huge visuals behind them continue to dazzle, a flood of huge balloons are dropped into the crowd, while a pair of giant animatronic robots flank the stage during Chemical Beats.
