Neighbours of four-year-old boy who fell from first floor window of Preston house speak of their shock
It is thought that neighbours have offered help to the family, including looking after other children while parents attended hospital.
One close neighbour said: “I heard a noise and came to see what was going on at the front, and there were police cars and ambulances everywhere. "The boy was lying on the floor screaming and a woman was trying to calm him, almost wrestling him to be still. "There were loads of people about, people on mobile phones, and I felt like I needed to do something, but what help could I be?Another neighbour, who lives on the opposite side of the road, said: “I saw the boy at the window. I went off to see to my daughter and the next thing, there were all these sirens.Another neighbour said: “I just hope that lad is going to be ok. It’s shocked everyone and we’re all thinking of him and his family.
“Emergency services attended and the child was taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital by air ambulance with a serious head injury.The boy remains in hospital where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
