Millions make their way through Glasgow Central Station each year, however, many are unaware of the secret that lies underneath the modern day platforms.
In the platform's heyday passengers were plunged into darkness as they waited to board the train. The station was a haven for crime as thieves lurked in the shadows targeting women.Knife-wielding robbers would cut the purse from the arms of unknowing passengers, numerous women were attacked on the platform, however, the assailants would sneak off into the night.
Now, members of the public can visit this amazing part of Glasgow's history and even see the soot from the last steam train on the walls and roof of the platform.
