The DVLA has banned a slate of new plates from being able to be used from September 1, 2023
A huge list of banned '73 reg' number plates has been released by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency as they come into effect from today.
Generally, for the right price, it's possible to request a specific licence number for your vehicle. However staff at the government agency have to remain vigilant, because not all are as innocent as they might seem.They can appear to make reference to swear words, rude phrases, or terms likely to cause offence.
"It is unsurprising that there are so many banned combinations when millions of plates are released twice a year. It is inevitable that some will spell - or almost spell - rude or offensive words.
