The American leg of his tour with The 1975 has been a mess of him doing stuff like making out with fans, gnawing on raw steak and singing ad-libs about menthol cigarettes . The first stretch of the band’s UK tour is no exception, kicking off with an eccentric show-within-a-show that leaves you questioning what’s real., this is a gig of two halves.
Someone behind me screams “I love you” in a very unhinged way as the band finally break into the multi-piano opening of “The 1975 ”, Healy shaking his head as he sings like he’s mocking his own thoughts and lyrics which, to be fair, are frequently mockable.
