A study found items that children wouldn't be able to buy in shops are freely available online with no age checks
Weapons, alcohol and vapes are just some of the items that children as young as seven years old can purchase online without having to verify their age, according to a new study.
Although the forthcoming government Online Safety Bill anticipated later this year will tighten regulations, there is currently no robust law enforcement in place to prevent companies selling to under-age people online “There would be uproar if a child purchased an alcoholic drink in a crowded pub and yet this type of transaction is allowed to go largely unchallenged when it is completed online."
