A facility on the Penines between Lancashire and Yorkshire was named the UK's least favourite
The iconic Cumbria stopping point boasts its own farm shop, cafe/restaurant area and soft play and has a picturesque lakeside location which feels a world away from your typical services. And earlier this year, its Westmorland Hotel was named as the best in the country.
Meanwhile, Hartshead Moor East in West Yorkshire was ranked as the country’s worst with an overall satisfaction rating of just 80%. Only three out of four visitors were satisfied with the toilets. The services is on the busiest route across the Pennines from Lancashire to Yorkshire. The average satisfaction score given by all users of services was 93%, including 61% who said they were very satisfied. Just 3% said they were very or fairly dissatisfied.
