Hundreds of thousands of children up and down the country have been collecting their GCSE results today , with a piece of paper deciding where they will be heading next in their education.
Students and parents will be nervously awaiting the opening of the envelope, with so much work put in. Results day also marks the day celebrities take to Twitter to post about their achievements 'despite their results'. For most of these students, it will be the first time they have sat public exams. This year is just the second time year 11s sat the exams in-person, after testing was interrupted in 2020 and 2021 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
