Extra security checks were put in place at Glasgow Airport on Wednesday as officers searched for former British Army soldier Daniel Abed Khalife.
A nationwide police manhunt remains underway for a suspected terrorist who escaped from prison. Daniel Abed Khalife, a former British Army soldier, was on remand at HMP Wandsworth in London awaiting trial in relation to terrorism and Official Secrets Act offences.
The Metropolitan Police later confirmed this was in relation to their UK-wide search for Khalife. Officers have so far been unable to locate him and are continuing to appeal for help from members of the public on Thursday. “I also want to reassure the public that we have no information which indicates, nor any reason to believe that Khalife poses a threat to the wider public, but our advice if you do see him is not to approach him and call 999 straight away.”
