Police detained a suspect and seized the suspected firearm
A suspected firearm that was seized on a residential road in Nottingham was being waved around during a parking dispute, police have said. An armed response unit and response officers were called to Andover Road, Bestwood, after receiving a report of a man in possession of a gun shortly after 4pm on Tuesday, July 18.
The teams detained a suspect and seized the suspected firearm, which was found to be a BB gun by an inspection. A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He has since been bailed with conditions while inquiries into what happened continue. Sergeant Megan Barnard, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We know the concern an incident like this can cause in the local communities but I want to reassure you that this was an isolated incident, and no one was injured.
“We’re still investigating what happened here so I would ask anyone who was driving past or saw anything to get in touch with us or make an anonymous report.”
