In recent weeks we’ve been given a really good look at what a UK Labour government could look like.

Sir Keir has also let us see the contempt he has for Scottish Labour and its leadership. Throughout the summer we’ve had a weekly parade of UK Labour frontbenchers trooping toand laying down the law on party positions. Anas Sarwar’s humiliating climbdowns and contortions on drug legislation, gender recognition, employment law and other policies he has not just voiced support for but voted for, have exposed his position as Scottish Labour leader as all but meaningless.

How do they explain to those affected by drug addiction that their previous openness to measures that could save many lives is now off the table lest it scare Home Counties Tory voters – or for that matter because Starmer’s No 2 Rachel Reeves doesn’t even think drug deaths should be a Scottish Government priority?

Shackled to policies that will continue to inflict misery on the most vulnerable in our communities because of a UK political agenda shifted squarely to the right, how can any voter believe anything coming from Scottish Labour? Every single promise will be ditched in a flash if it doesn’t align with Sir Keir’s agenda.
