Imagine being at school and getting the opportunity to sit down and quiz the new chairman of your local football club who also happens to be one of the world’s biggest music stars.
That’s exactly what these 16 lucky youngsters did in November 1976 when they were given the chance to meet and question Elton John at Vicarage Road. A Watford Observer photographer was in attendance at the stadium as the music icon, who had already had big chart success with classics including Your Song, Rocket Man and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, sat down for a Q&A session with the pupils, who were armed with microphones, tape recorders and a sheet of questions.
