Japanese student Ayako Misawa captured the footage in 1993 🤩📹

You could fill the Hydro with the number of people who claim they saw Oasis at King Tut's in May 1993, but there's no doubting Ayako Misawa - she has the footage to prove she was there.

"I came to Glasgow in April 1993 for the first time," said Ayako, speaking exclusively with Glasgow Live. Ayako recalls: "I was really fascinated by the Glasgow music scene and loved bands like the Jesus and Mary Chain, Aztec Camera, The Pastels, BMX Bandits, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, Trashcan Sumatras, Whiteout, etc.

"There was no information [about Oasis] at all. Nobody knew who was playing on stage at the time. I recorded only the first two songs as per my rule, but obviously now I regret not having the full set - because their performance was wonderful. It was a quiet Monday night and there was no mention of Oasis. It was later revealed that they had hitched a lift up from Manchester with the Sister Lovers and managed to persuade King Tut's to place them at the foot of the bill.

"I was a fan of Creation Records, so I decided to send a copy to Alan McGee to pass it on to the band, just for memories."
