The former Great British Bake Off winner competed on the BBC show in 2021
Strictly Come Dancing star John Whaite has broken his social media silence after admitting he fell in love with Johannes Radebe, his Strictly professional dance partner. The former Great British Bake Off winner, 34, and Johannes, 36, starred in the 2021 series, becoming the first same-sex couple to take to the dance floor of the BBC show.
Opening up about his experience, he said: "I fell in love with him [Johannes]. I can't speak for him – because I'm not allowed to, legally – but it felt like there was love there. We had such similar stories growing up; the homophobia, the bullying, coming out, coming to terms with our sexuality, as any queer kid would." John then stated: "I still love Johannes. Of course I do.
The former Bake Off winner is set to release his brand new memoir later this month, and it will detail his rise to fame and his career, as well as much darker subjects including his struggles with bulimia, alcoholism, and body dysmorphia.
