A vehicle used in the demolition of St Joseph’s Orphanage has mounted pavements and caused damage, according to nearby residents
show the large vehicle using the pavement to travel up Mount Street.Residents say the vehicle also drove on the pavement in Garden Street in order to pass the hoardings protecting the site of a planned apartment block.Speaking in response to concerns raised in April, the Council said: “As the road is a one-way street, we are satisfied that traffic is able to pass the development safely.”A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “I think the images challenge the statement by Highways.
“In this case the vehicle passed the wrong way along two one-way streets, and now the road and pavement surfaces are both damaged.”Read more
