The Scottish Greens have sent their strongest signal yet that they may refuse to work with Kate Forbes if she becomes leader of the SNP.

The Bute House Agreement is a cooperation deal between the two parties that was signed in 2021 to prop up the SNP in Holyrood, where they are sometimes reliant on support from the Scottish Greens’ seven MSPs because they hold 64 of the 129 seats – one short of a majority.

On Saturday, the Scottish Greens sent their strongest signal yet that they may refuse to work with Ms Forbes.spoke out at the Scottish Green Party conference in Clydebank.
