Forecasters have also said 'a touch of frost' is likely to appear in certain parts of the country.
Weather experts have confirmed that snowfall is on the way for Scotland this week as temperatures begin to drop.
The Met Office confirmed the news in a recent weather forecast, with meteorologist Alex Burkill explaining that the "drier, clearer weather" across the far north of Scotland could make things turn "a little chilly" today . Heavy rain is also forecast for much of Strathclyde and Central, Tayside and Fife on Wednesday, as well as Aberdeen, prompting the Met Office to issue an alert lasting from 3am until 3pm.
"Temperatures will be around normal for the time of year, but in any drier interludes, particularly if the wind comes from a more easterly direction, temperatures could take a dip with some frost by night.
