Those hoping for some snow to fall this festive period might just be in luck, as parts of Scotland could be in for a white Christmas.

Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Dan Harris explains: "Uncertainty in the weather forecast details is not unusual at 6-7 days out, and the current weather patterns are heightening those uncertainties. Met Office forecaster Greg Dewhurst said that colder air is again coming down from the Arctic over the weekend.
