The proposed location for the facility sits between a car park for the Glasgow Pram Centre and a train line on Hunter Street in the east end of Glasgow.
As reported by the Times, it is just a short distance from the iconic Barras market and the Barrowland Ballroom, with a Morrisons, a Salvation Army homeless centre and the Lodging House Mission also nearby.
The official announcement of detailed proposals is expected to be made at the Glasgow City Integration Joint Board meeting on Wednesday, September 27. She is in favour of the introduction of a network of consumption rooms across Scotland, adding: “eventually I would like to see these facilities where they are needed”.
