The singer-songwriter, who has passed away aged 56, was the most recent person to sing the iconic Outlander theme song 'The Skye Boat Song'
Music legend Sinead O'Connor has tragically died aged 56 and floods of Outlander fans are amongst those paying tribute to the singer, after she sang a haunting rendition of the show's them tune for its latest season.
Announcing the exciting news earlier this year, showrunner Matthew B. Roberts said: "We are honoured to have Sinéad O’Connor performing ‘The Skye Boat Song.’ Her rendition is, for me, a reminder of all that’s beautiful about 'Outlander.'" Following the news of Sinead's shocking passing, Caitriona Balfe - who plays Claire Fraser on the hit show - penned a heartfelt tribute to the Irish singer. Sharing a photo of Sinead on Instagram, she wrote: "I hope you are at peace … and with your baby boy. Thank you for sharing your soul with us and soothing us with your incredible voice beautiful Sinéad."
Another added: "She lived a very hard life and because of it, you could always tell that she poured her whole soul into each of her songs. Sinéad O’Connor's rendition of #Outlander 's The Skye Boat Song brings me to tears every time I hear it. RIP."
