Stephen Nugent had chased the girl and attacked her after she turned down his drunken advances
A sex attacker who pounced on a 13-year-old girl as she walked home was caught after his victim spotted him weeks later outside a supermarket.
He has now been warned he faces a long prison sentence for the “terrifying” attack. Nugent, 46, admitted molesting the girl in Cumbernauld on November 21, 2021.Kevin Jarvis, prosecuting, said: “She saw the accused who was unsteady on his feet and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.” Sheriff Scott Pattison deferred sentence on Nugent, of Cumbernauld, until next month and put him on the sex offenders’ register.
