The long-awaited inquiry into the Government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic will begin its first public hearings this week – what will be covered? 🔎 Analysis by ChaplainChloe
In the first module the inquiry will consider how prepared the country was to deal with a crisis like the Covid-19 pandemic. This will include examining the impact a decade of austerity had on the state of the health service.
As the inquiry unfolds, one of the key issues it will look at is the Government’s policy on care homes. This topic was included in a list of questions to Boris Johnson. They included questions about how the decision was taken to discharge elderly patients from hospital into care homes and whether Covid testing was taken into consideration.
