A section of the M62 has been closed near a West Yorkshire town following a serious crash.
The motorway was closed in both directions between junctions 25 and 26 at Brighouse for several hours overnight.West Yorkshire Police were first called to the scene at around 9.45pm yesterday, and forensic collision investigations have taken place through the night.No information was given on the nature of the crash, the number of vehicles involved or whether any people have been injured.
A statement from the police released this morning said: ‘The M62 is currently closed in both directions between junctions 25 and 26 following a serious collision. ‘The closure is expected to be in place for some time and motorists are urged to seek alternative routes.
