New mum and Selling Sunset star Heather Rae El Moussa first put her symptoms down to motherhood after welcoming her first child but was soon diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease
The celebrity estate agent, who welcomed her first child Tristan with husband Tarek El Moussa this year, said that the illness made her life "brutal".Her symptoms included feeling extremely tired, noticing inconsistencies with her milk supply and suffering from brain fog.
She added: "My brain was so tired. My body was so tired. I was exhausted all the time and no amount of sleep could make it better." But after getting blood work done, she was told that her pregnancy triggered Hashimoto’s disease. Hashimoto’s disease is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks the thyroid gland, accoridng to the National Institutes of Health.
