A guest on Antiques Roadshow was floored at the eye-watering valuation given to her gloves bought from a second-hand shop.
Fiona Bruce met with the guest who was very happy after talking to one of their experts. The presenter said: "Word has gone around that you have a rather exciting pair of gloves." The guest explained how her mum originally bought the gloves in a second-hand shop in Oxford when she was a student in the 1970s.At the time, the guest's mother was told they were 1930s evening gloves - however, after speaking to Antiques Roadshow expert Marc Allum, the guest discovered this was not the case.
She said: "So I just had a talk with Marc Allum and he was saying that they're likely to be 17th century." Asking the all-important question, Fiona said: "And what have they been valued at?" The guest revealed that Marc had estimated the gloves at a cool £1,500.Receive newsletters with the biggest and breaking TV and showbiz news by signing up here
