Everton boss Sean Dyche was asked about the club's transfer business ahed of deadline day

The Everton boss was speaking at his press conference ahead of the Toffees’ trip to Sheffield United but was quizzed about the club’s plans for the final days of the transfer window, which is set to close at 11pm on Friday.

Alex Iwobi’s future has long been a subject for debate, having entered the final year of his contract, while there is reported to be plenty of attention around young striker Tom Cannon. Meanwhile, Demarai Gray has also been targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs. Dyche delivered an update on the trio’s futures on Thursday afternoon, admitting that Everton could still make more signings, should players leave the club.

In terms of Iwobi’s future, the Everton boss continued: “The obvious thing that I think has been apparent, though I had to spell it out last week, the club have to look at the business side of it; a player with a year left [on his contract], Tom is slightly different. Money’s not free-flowing so it has to be looked at.”

Dyche admitted that, should both Iwobi and Cannon be sold, the Blues would prioritise signing a wide player. The Everton boss feels that the team could have enough options up front with the signings of Beto and Chermiti, plus Dominic Calvert-Lewin returning to fitness. The club are tracking potential deals but Dyche was quick to explain how much the transfer window can change in the final few days.
