Our regular Everton fan jury talk at length about the issues of the week at Goodison Park
Everton have won four and drawn one of their last five meetings with Arsenal at Goodison Park.
This will be the first opportunity for Everton fans to watch new signing Beto play at the Old Lady. His all-action style and ability to unsettle defences, create chances, and score goals have generated huge levels of excitement and expectation. A victory on the pitch would prove a welcome distraction from the shenanigans unfolding in the boardroom. The rumoured takeover of the club by a team of US entrepreneurs with a dubious reputation has created even more anxiety amongst supporters.
Onto Arsenal, then. This game is important; it has the feel of a game to kick start the season. Arsenal at Goodison brings back some great memories, most recently last season with the Blues coming away victorious courtesy of a James Tarkowski header in front of Gwladys Street. What was the last time we enjoyed two strikers terrorising a defence in front of us at Goodison Park? You could argue we need another man in the midfield against Arsenal, with your thoughts instantly going to Abdoulaye Doucoure, but on the other hand, we have two goalscorers at our disposal, so why not use them?
