A seafood bar and restaurant in Hyndland has been granted permission to extend its licensed hours despite objections from the community.
Shucks on Hyndland Road can now serve alcohol to customers from 11am until midnight from Sunday to Wednesday - matching its hours from Thursday to Saturday.
Only one of the objectors attended the licensing hearing - a representative from Dowanhill, Hyndland and Kelvinside CommunityShe said: “Hyndland Road is a residential area, the licensed premises is under a residential tenement, next door to another and across the road from more tenements, where people are sleeping before their next day at work.
Shucks had initially asked for permission to show televised sport but withdrew the request following the complaint from the community council. “I don’t believe there have been any issues or incidents relative to the current operation. I would ask you to consider that being a restaurant, this is quite normal.”
