Vice Chair of the Scottish Police Federation, Brian Jones, said the proposals were 'irresponsible beyond belief'
The Scottish Police Federation has warned the force could become "a laughing stock" if proposed cuts to traffic policing go ahead.
Commenting, he said: "Traffic, trade and industry does not shut down between 3 and 7 am, neither does criminality. It comes after the Record revealed the proposals earlier this week, with cops and motoring campaigners fearing the cuts would be disastrous for public safety.
